Description of Game Of Thrones: 10 Years After The Beginning - An Overview Of The Careers Of The Actors
The Westeros saga began exactly ten years ago. Numerous characters died in the course of the series, a few survived. We take a look at the careers of the main characters from Game of Thrones.
Believe it or not, the first episode of "Game of Thrones" aired ten years ago. The series has now ended with eight seasons, but numerous offshoots are already in the works. Although several characters made it through to the final season, we're only looking at the cast of eight key characters and their careers after the Westeros saga was over.
Emilia Clarke
For most of the series, Daenerys Targaryen was the heroine, the underdog, the fighter, in short: the one who was supposed to win the game for the throne. As is known, things turned out differently and she was stabbed to death by Jon Snow shortly before her target. In the end, it was probably the right decision of her nephew. Still, it was surprising. Actress Emilia Clarke has now reached the top. She was already in "GoT" times in "Solo: A Star Wars Story", with "A Whole Half a Year" she moved an audience of millions to tears and at Christmas 2019 she was in a weird homage with "Last Christmas" to see the George Michael song in the cinema. Since then it has become a little quieter for Clarke, but numerous rumors about her person keep surfacing. So she is supposed to be Amber Heard in "
Peter Dinklage
Tyrion has meanwhile lost its way into the MCU
Tyrion Lannister not only survived the battle for the Iron Throne, he has even become part of the MCU in the meantime. As Eitri he forged the new weapon Stormbreaker for Thor, the god of thunder. Dinklage also played in the Oscar-winning film "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri" and a look at the imdb film database reveals that he has eight projects in the pipeline. Among other things, he will take on the leading role of Cyrano de Bergearc in Jow Wright's film "Cyrano". Other projects are "American Dreamer", "Hitpig" and "The Toxic Avenger".
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau
The character of the Dane Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Jaime Lannister really went through everything in the course of the series. From incestuous noble brother to prisoner who vegetates in his filth, only to finally find death in King's Landing together with his sister Cersei. Coster-Waldau remains loyal to Danish cinema. Trips to Hollywood are in short supply. In 2016 he tried to stand in the way of the desert god Set (Gerard Butler) as the Egyptian god Horus. In 2019 he was the main actor in "Domino" by cult director Brian de Palma. Otherwise he mostly plays in Danish productions like most recently "Krudttønden" (2020)THE SKY ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE INCLUDING "GOT" IS AVAILABLE
Isaac Hempstead Wright
Who would have thought? In the end, Bran Stark actually sits on the Iron Throne. For actor Hempstead Wright, however, this was not the start of a flourishing acting career. After "GoT" he was only seen in one project so far: "Voyagers" alongside Colin Farrell. In 2017 he graduated from the University of Birmingham specifically to advance his acting career. However, since 2019 he has been re-enrolled and is studying neuroscience at University College London
Kit Harrington
Kit Harington starred as Jon Snow from start to finish. It is all the more interesting that afterwards his career is not as aloof as one might expect. In addition to the indie drama "The Death & Life of John F. Donovan" from 2018, the only big film was the new Marvel flick "Eternals", which is currently still in the process of being completed, but should be released this year. He had a guest role in the Netflix crime series "Criminal" as Alex and he dubbed "Eret" in "How To Train Your Dragon".
Maisie Williams
Great things also came to her. Arya Stark murder the Night King in the final season of Game of Thrones. Maisie Williams, on the other hand, took it easy recently. After her role in the unfortunate X-Men movie "New Mutants", she appeared in the Sky Original "Two Weeks to Live" and in the horror comedy "The Owners". According to imdb, she has no further projects planned at the moment.
Lena Headey
Lena Headey was the great Cersei Lannister - loved and hated. The actress started her career almost 20 years before "Game of Thrones". But even after that she was not idle. In 2013, she founded an entire franchise at the side of Ethan Hawke with the first "The Purge" film, but did not return to it. In 2014 she took on the role of Queen Gorgon again in "300: Rise of an Empire", which she also played in the first film. In addition to a few smaller series roles, Headey could also be seen in the horror parody "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" and lent the voice of a doll for the Netflix series "The Dark Crystal: Age of Fall".
Sophie Turner
Sophie Turner was a real stunner as Sansa Stark. The actress, who became famous through "Game of Thrones", was granted at least a really big Hollywood role afterwards. She became the new, all-powerful X-Men Phoenix aka Jean Gray. First in 2016 in "X-Men: Apocalypse" and finally in 2019 in her own film "Dark Phoenix". Other small films such as "Josie" and "Time Freak" from 2018 did not get a great response.
